Not a Common Path

My background is music and technology. As someone who grew up in the Washington, DC area, I am also passionate about policy, specifically for higher ed. I am a life long learner, interested in a multitude of subjects. When I was about five years old, my Dad said, "Do you want to watch the Beatles in A Hard Day's Night?" That was it. As soon as I saw the Beatles, I had to be a part of audio. There are many different possible career paths within audio and I have done most of them, including: theatre, places of worship, film, music studios, radio, college radio, and live events. It was not a lot of money at first, and I definitely had to work 2-3 jobs for a few years, but I sacrificed and kept fighting to stay in my field. I see educational technology as the most consequential and meaningful application of my skills. I am now a subject matter expert in audiovisual hardware and hybrid meeting and learning software. I was trained at George Washington University, where I am completing my MA in Educational Technology Leadership. I invite you to learn more about this field through my portfolio. I will discuss the timeline of the role audiovisual technology plays in meetings and learning, from 2017 to present day. From in-person only, to remote, to hybrid.
